Got my travel bag with all the stuff we want to send back to England and because the streets were so congested we walked for 20 minutes to the China Post International. Found some one who spoke a little English and they provided a big box and we placed most of the items into it. Anything metal they would not take and Penny’s hair tongs. Weighed just over 14 kilos all the paper work completed and cost under £50 take 2 months two get there.
We checked out of the hotel and went to the Temple of Heaven it was okay but what really took my eye was an area of people 60 years plus foot kicking a big shuttle cock they made it look so simple. In this area was a variety of simple work out machines, parallel bars, climbing frames. There was a gentlemen in his 80’s hanging upside down on a gymnastic bar and then going around countless times. These people all looked fit and healthy and it makes you wonder why don’t we have areas like this for retired people so people can meet up and socialise. The downside how long would vandals wreck it all?
Off to the train station soon, got a night trip up to Harbin where the ice festival is. Get there about 06:40 a short walk to the hotel but check in is not until the afternoon. We are here for 2 nights and it will be cold again around -16 C. We have the clothing so it is okay.
